Following on from our news item last week, ISLA has submitted a response to the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness. As stated in ISLA’s response, “the consultation covers many aspects of securities lending and therefore we would like to provide some insight on current market regulation and market practices on the various aspects you have raised. In some cases the regulatory landscape for funds in Europe is overly complex and restrictive, however as an initial framework for consideration we do believe it is comprehensive.”
