Opening Keynote Address

As Europe continues to come to terms with a post-Brexit world, this session will provide perspectives on today’s political landscape. Amongst other things, it will consider the implications of Angela Merkel’s imminent departure, as well as the upcoming French presidential elections in 2022. Financial regulation will be front and centre as EU policymakers strive to give the EU a sense of direction, with the bloc’s internal unity being tested from rule of law squabbles and possible further political tensions over migration.
