In December ISLA held our final ISLA Connects Educational Briefing of 2024, Understanding ISLA & the Role of an Association, kindly hosted by BNY. With over 60 registered, industry-leading speakers and an engaging agenda, our fourth standalone ISLA Connects Educational Briefing served as a fitting close for 2024.
Tina Baker, our ISLA Connects Lead, and Grant Mansfield, representing our hosts at BNY, welcomed our attendees and then we dove straight into the afternoon’s sessions. Our key takeaways from the engaging afternoon briefing are below:
- Alistair Griffiths gave our ISLA Connects attendees the prospective ISLA member experience, introducing ISLA and the integral role we play as the representative body for our members, sitting at the heart of the securities lending and borrowing industry.
- Farrah Mahmood then expertly navigated us through the turbulent legislative landscape and how ISLA engages with key policymakers and regulators to address emerging challenges and influence key regulatory developments on behalf of our members.
- Recognising the ever-growing influence of regulation on technology, Adrian Dale explained ISLA’s pivotal role in bringing together securities financing industry stakeholders to help shape the regulatory and technology agenda.
- Through industry-leading events, strategic communications and topic-specific thought leadership, Rishi Sethi & Sejal Amin shared how ISLA projects our message to address the issues that matter to the industry most.
- Our ISLA Connects sessions concluded with our ISLA Board Members Ina Budh-Raja (BNY), Jonathan Lombardo (Deutsche Börse) and Philip Winter (Citi) receiving a range of questions from our engaged audience during their Fireside Chat.
ISLA’s CEO Andrew Dyson closed out the briefing with his final remarks and invited our ISLA Connects attendees to join us for some refreshments at our structured networking reception.
