ISLA Announces Updates to Best Practices

ISLA is pleased to announce several updates to the ISLA Best Practice Handbook, making it easier for users to access the information they need, when they need it!

ISLA continually reviews how our members and users access and engage with content on our website. These insights, along with direct member feedback provide the basis for ongoing improvements and developments to the ISLA website.

ISLA Best Practices: Phase Two

The ISLA Best Practices are at the heart of what we do, providing the industry with topic specific guidance covering many of the trading and lifecycle interactions that underpin our industry.

During the first half of 2025, ISLA made a number of improvements to the Best Practices including back-end developments, making it easier than ever to make updates while also allowing members to comment and provide input to topics more efficiently.

This phase includes a significant overhaul to the front-end look and feel of each handbook, improving the user experience,  making it easier to find topics while also being able to search for topics by status and in order of update date.

With more content than ever before, including new updates for T+1 and SEC 10c-1a, these updates are an important milestone in ensuring the Best Practices continue to be an valuable resource for the industry.

All our latest Best Practice Handbooks are now accessible here.

CDM Best Practices Now Live

Alongside these updates, ISLA is also pleased the announce the publication of a Common Domain Model (CDM) Best Practice Handbook bringing all relevant support documentation into one, easy to access repository for ISLA members.

More information on the CDM handbook, including key topics and future developments will be shared in due course. In the meantime, the CDM Best Practice can be accessed here.

Looking ahead, ISLA is working on a mobile friendly of the Best Practice Handbook as well as a full migration of the Securities Lending Best Practice to the new look and feel.

We welcome feedback on any of the below updates or any other aspect of the ISLA website, please reach out to communications@islaemea.org.
