ISLA welcomed over 30 local market participants at our Zurich regional briefing kindly hosted by SIX, for an exploration into the key market trends shaping the industry as well as an outlook for 2026, including the domestic regulatory environment as well as a European, UK and global outlook.
ISLA provided the group an overview of the Association’s key deliverables over the year including our membership growth and increasing coverage of the Swiss market, while also shining a light on key focus areas for the Association in 2026.
S&P Global Market Intelligence kindly joined the team to share key industry as highlighted through local, regional and global market data. While global revenues are on course for hitting new highs, Europe still lags behind American and Asia – however, with utilisation picking up and growth back on the agenda – 2026 could be the year this changes.
Lastly, ISLA hosted a fireside chat dissecting the key EU regulatory trends — from competitiveness to resilience – as well as emerging technologies and changing market dynamics, to examine how they align with and diverge from the Swiss environment. While the Swiss securities lending market is expected to remain resilient, driven by the country’s economic stability and growing investor base, there is no doubt that 2026 will bring its own set of challenges including global uncertainties, tightening regulations, and evolving demands for collateral and trading strategies – all of which will need flexible but focused strategies to navigate smoothly.
Thank you again to the team at SIX for hosting this afternoon’s thought-provoking session.
